Radio Sausalito went on the air with a signal that reached a block or two from the box in the closet of Jonathan Westerling's studio apartment on Caledonia Street.

Now in its third year, the studio has moved out of the closet and into a police storage facility. Westerling, 26, runs it at night after working as a tech coordinator for Landor Associates in San Francisco. His voice has perfect timbre for the medium, but it's seldom heard, and then only to identify the station at 100.1 FM.
