What
is podcasting?
Podcasting makes the latest versions of a radio program available online
automatically. You can then hear the podcast whenever you want from your
computer or a portable media player.
What do I need to hear podcasts?
The first thing you need is podcast subscription software. Your options
include the latest version of Apple's iTunes
(which has the software built in), or other services such as Odeo,
Doppler or Juice,
to manage your podcast subscriptions. These programs will allow you to
hear podcast audio from your computer (provided your computer has a sound
card and can play MP3 audio files). If you want to also make your podcasts
portable, you will need to transfer them from your computer to a portable
media device, like an iPod.
How do I subscribe to a podcast?
To subscribe to any shows listed, click on the name of the show above.
How do I unsubscribe to a podcast?
If you wish to unsubscribe to a podcast, just delete the show from your
iTunes podcast list.
I subscribed to a podcast. Why
don't I hear anything?
First, be sure that you have iTunes installed. ; then, verify that the
correct audio file was downloaded to your computer. You may need to modify
the update settings in your podcasting software to ensure that this process
occurs automatically.
I don't want to subscribe to
the podcast - how do I hear the audio?
No problem! Just go to this page on our
website. You'll be able to hear the audio without using a podcast subscription
program or service. Just click on the show and then the episode you wish
to hear.
